In this article, we will look at the way 会(huì) is used to express a desire to do something in the future.

Structure

As well as expressing a learned skill, 会 (huì) can also be used to indicate that something will happen or that someone will do something.


Subject + 会 + Verb + Object

Examples

  • 明天 你 来 吗?Will you come tomorrow?
  • 今晚 我 去 饭馆 吃饭。Tonight I will go to the restaurant to eat.
  • 考上 大学。He will test into college.
  • 待会儿 下雨。Wait a while and it will rain.
  • 下班 以后, 我 给 你 打电话。After leaving work, I can give you a call.
  • 圣诞节 的 时候,我 回家。During Christmas, I can return home.
  • 他 不 跟 你 结婚。He can't marry you.
  • 我 不 告诉 你 那 件 事。I cannot tell you this matter.
