In this article, we will look at the way 会 (huì) is used to express a desire to do something in the future.

Structure

As well as expressing a learned skill, 会 (huì) can also be used to indicate that something will happen or that someone will do something.


Subject + 会 + Verb + Object

Examples

  • 明天 你 来 吗?Will you come tomorrow?
  • 今晚 我 去 饭店 吃饭。Tonight I will go to the restaurant to eat.
  • 考 上 大学。He will test into college.
  • 明天 下 雨。It will rain tomorrow.
  • 下班 以后, 我 给 你 打电话。After leaving work, I will give you a call.
  • 今年 圣诞节,我 回家。This Christmas, I will return home.
  • 今天 晚上, 我 和 朋友 一起 吃饭。This evening, my friend and I will eat together.
  • 下 个 月,我 的 妹妹 来 上海。Next month, My little sister will arrive in Shanghai.
  • 他 不 跟 你 结婚。He won't marry you.
  • 我 不 告诉 你。I won't tell you.
