Expressing purpose with "hao"

好让 (hǎoràng) means "in order to", and therefore expresses purpose. It is used in the following way:

Subject 1 + action, 好让 + purpose

Examples

  • 妈妈 晚上 总是 让 她 喝 牛奶,好 让 她 容易 入睡。Mother always makes her drink milk in the evening to help her fall asleep.
  • 你 要 说 慢 点儿,好 让 他们 明白。You need to speak a little slower so that they can understand.
  • 我 已经 把 准备 工作 做 好 了,好 让 你们 尽快 开始。I already prepared the work so that you guys can start it as soon as possible.
