A primer on using 不要 to mean "don't".

Structure

Negative commands in Chinese ("do not" or "don't") are formed with 不要. Usually the subject is omitted, as in English.

不要 + Verb + Object

Examples

  • 不要 说话!Don't speak!
  • 不要 推 我!Don't push me!/span>
  • 不要 说谎!Don't lie!
