The following structures that are used to request something in Chinese are organized according to our grammar points by level.

A1 Requesting

Grammar Point (English) Pattern Examples
Expressing permission with "keyi" 可以 + Verb 这里 可以 吸烟 吗?
Suggestions with "ba" Command + 吧 我们 走
Tag questions with "ma" ⋯⋯是吗 / 对吗 / 好吗 ? 这样 做, 对 吗 ?
Yes-no questions with "ma" ⋯⋯吗? 他 是 老板  ?

A2 Requesting

B1 Requesting

Advanced yes-no questions with "ma" Confirmation + Question + 吗 ? 你 要 什么  ?
Comparing "hui," "neng," "keyi" 会 vs. 能 vs. 可以 跳舞 。这里 不 跳舞 。我 可以 请 你 跳舞 吗 ?

B2 Requesting
