Final

Revision as of 09:54, 18 January 2015 by WikiSysop (talk | contribs)

The word final is a term referring to the second part of a Chinese syllable, and it consists of one or more vowel sounds, plus an "n," "ng," or "r" sound. It is 韵母 (yùnmǔ) in Chinese. Most finals combine with an initial to make a syllable, but some syllables consist of only a final (such as "an"). Every Mandarin syllable must have a final.
