Comparing "cang" and "duo"

藏 (cáng) and 躲 (duǒ) both mean "to hide," both are verbs, and both are used in both informal and formal contexts. When 藏 and 躲 are not followed by an object, they usually can be used interchangeably. However, only 藏 can also be used to mean "to conceal." Another difference is that only 躲 can be used as "to avoid" or "to evade."
