Comparing "gongfu" and "shijian"

工夫 and 时间 both are nouns that can be used to mean “time” as in a period of time and sometimes they can be used interchangeably. 工夫 is used in informal situations, whereas 时间 is used in informal or informal situations. They key difference is between these two is that 时间’s use is much wider than 功夫. Specifically, only 时间 can be paired with a specific time (10 o’clock, etc.) and to describe the general condition of it being early or late in the day.
