将来 and 未来 are both nouns that mean the future and in many circumstances can be used interchangeably. 将来 is used in both informal and formal settings, whereas 未来 is used in formal settings. While very similar in meaning, both have distinct uses, for example only 将来 is used to compare the future to the present condition. As well, only 未来 can be mean the very near future (approximately a week or less) and a hope for a brighter future.
