Additional Directions Vocabulary

Chinese Pinyin English Level
东南西北 dōng nán xī běi the four cardinal directions (lit. "east south west north") B1
东南 dōngnán southeast B1
东北 dōngběi northeast B1
西南 xīnán southwest B1
西北 xīběi northwest B1

Note that there are two different words for "tomato." This happens sometimes. In this case, you really do need to learn them both. You might be able to get away with using only one of them most of the time, though.
