Expressing "in this way" with "zheyang"

这样 (zhèyàng) is used at the beginning of the sentence to express "in this way."

Structure

Examples

• 我们 还是 坐 地铁 吧， 这样 更 方便。Wǒmen háishì zuò tìtiě ba, zhèyàng gèng fāngbiàn. We'd better take the metro. It's more convenient this way.
• 今天 有点 忙，中午 叫 外卖 吧，这样 比较 快。Jīntiān bǐjiào máng, zhōngwǔ jiào wàimài ba, zhèyàng bǐjiào kuài. It's a little busy today. Let's order take-out for lunch. It's faster this way.
• 你 要 多 吃 蔬菜，这样 更 健康。Nǐ yào duō chī shūcài, zhèyàng gèng jiànkāng. You should eat more vegetables. It's healthier this way.
• 你 需要 多 说，这样 可以 帮 你 练习 汉语 口语。Nǐ xūyào duō shuō, zhèyàng kěyǐ bāng nǐ liànxí hànyǔ kǒuyǔ. You need to speak more. You can practice your spoken Chinese this way.
• 你 要 让 他 自己 做，这样 他 才 能 学会。Nǐ yào ràng tā zìjǐ zuò, zhèyàng cái néng xué huì. You should let him do it by himself. He can only learn this way.
