之一 (zhīyī) is one of those words that really gives your Chinese some polish. Using it with confidence makes your Chinese sound great! Learn how to use 之一 (zhīyī) properly in this article.
Structure
In order to express "one of the..." in Chinese, "之一" (zhī yī) can be used at the end of the sentence.
Subj. + 是 + [Noun Phrase] + 之一
or
[Noun Phrase] + 之一 + 是 ⋯⋯
An important note to keep in mind is that 之一 can only follow a noun.

- 她 是 我 最 好 的 朋友 之 一 。She is one of my best friends.

- 他 辞职 的 原因 之 一 是 老板 经常 让 他们 加班 。One of the reasons why he quit his job is that the boss often asks them to work late.
