随着 (suízhe), "along with", or "followed by" can be used to express that two things are happening at once.

For example:

  • 随着 一 个 巨大 的 爆炸,宇宙 诞生 了。
  • 他 的 狗 怪 得 很,无论 到 哪里 都 会 随着 主人 走。
  • 随着 音乐 拍手。


随着 can also be used in the following structure to indicate that a change in A causes a respective change in B. In this case A is generally a trend, like development or rising prices.

The structure is:

随着 A + 的 + Verb, B + Verb

For example:

  • 随着 经济 的 发展,社会 的 两极分化 越 来 越 严重。
  • 随着 石油 价格 的 提升,水涨船高,粮食 的 价格 翻 了 好 几 倍。
  • 随着 年龄 的 增加,他 变 得 更加 绝望。
