Expressing "in the name of" with "yi... de mingyi"

以 (yǐ) ... 名义 (míngyì) is used to represent someone or something. This grammar pattern expresses "in the name of..."
Structure
This structure is similar to the English "in the name of the..." as in "in the name of the people."
以 + Subj. + 名义
Examples
- 以个人自由的名义,我们反对政府的新法律。In the name of personal freedom, we oppose the government's new law.
- 很多学生们以研究的名义去别的国家旅行。Many students travel to other countries in the name of research.
