Advanced result complements "zhu", "kai", and "chulai"

When used as a resultative complement, 住 (zhù) can meaning "to stop", "tightly", or "able to".

住 as "to come to a halt" :
- 站住！放 下 武器, 举 起 手 来！
- 我 意识 到 我 说 太 多 了，所以 马上 打住 了。
- 快点 打 电话 让 维修工 过来 帮 我们 止住 漏水。
- 山路 被 泥石流 堵住 了
住 meaning "firmly" or "tightly".
- 你 必须 抓住 重点。
- 长辈 给 你 传授 的 智慧 一定 要 记住。
When used with 得 (or 不), 住 is used to express one's ability is up (or not) to the task in question.
- 他 已经 连续 工作 了 二十四 个 小时，肯定 快 熬不住 了。
- 我 忍不住 骂 他 一 顿。
- 你 把 那么 多 书 放 在 书架 上 了，它 肯定 支撑不住 嘛。
