Expressing "not… but rather…" with "er shi"

不是...而是... (bù shì...érshì) is not, but rather This is a useful phrase to use in arguments to overturn a point of view and state the opposite.
For example:
- 因特网 不 是 一 个 具体 的 存在 而 是 一 个 极为 模糊 的 概念
- 盖尔特 把 很 多 钱 捐 给 了 慈善机构，有 人 说 他 的 目的 不 是 在于 帮助 穷人 而 是 在于 提高 自己 的 名誉 (盖尔特= Bill Gates)
