- Also known as: 状态动词 (zhuàngtài dòngcí), 静态动词 (jìngtài dòngcí), state verb and static verb.
A stative verb is a verb describing a relatively unchanging or permanent condition/state. Stative verbs in Mandarin are usually translated as adjectives in English.
Notes
- Generally two characters; hence single character stative verbs are usually preceded by 很.
- Using a single character stative verb alone is for comparison
