Expressing "not only… but also" with "bujin"

There are a few ways to express "not only ... but also" in Chinese. One of them is:

Structure

Noun + 不仅 + A，而且 + B

A and B could be adjectives, verbs or phrases.

Examples

• 他 不仅 很 帅，而且 很 聪明。Tā bùjǐn hěn shuài, érqiě hěn cōngmíng.He is not only handsome, but also intelligent.
• 我们 不仅 完成 了 任务 而且 比 规定 日期 提前 了 十天。Wǒmen bùjǐn wánchéngle rènwù érqiě bǐ guīdìng rìqí tíqiánle shí tiān.We not only completed the task, but we did so ten days ahead of schedule.
• 这 道 菜 不仅 好吃 而且 很 有 营养。Zhè dào cài bùjǐn hào chī érqiě hěn yǒu yíngyǎng.This dish is not only tasty, but also nutritious.
• 这 件 事情 不仅 我 知道，而且 还是 我 做的。Zhè jiàn shìqing bùjǐn wǒ zhīdào, érqiě háishì wǒ zuò de.This is matter that not only I knew, but I have done.
• 这些水 不仅 够 我们 用 一 个 月，而且 还 会 有 剩余。Zhèxiē shuǐ bùjǐn gòu wǒmen yòng yī gè yuè, érqiě hái huì yǒu shèngyú.This water will last us for a month, and there will be more left.
• 我 不仅 想 妈妈 爸爸，而且 也 想 家里 的 小狗 了。Wǒ bùjǐn xiǎng māma bàba, érqiě yě xiǎng jiālǐ de xiǎogǒu le.I miss not only my mother and father, but also the dog at home.
• 在夏天的时候， 不仅 有 蚊子，而且 也 没有空调。Zài xiàtiān de shíhòu,bùjǐn yǒu wénzi, érqiě yě méiyǒu kōngtiáo.In the summer, there are not only mosquitoes, but also no air conditioning.
• 他 不仅 写 小说，而且 也 拍 电影。Tā bùjǐn xiě xiǎoshuō, érqiě yě pāi diànyǐng.He not only writes novels, but also makes movies.
• 这 家 超市 不仅 种类 多，而且 价格 也 不 贵。Zhè jiā chāoshì bùjǐn zhǒnglèi duō, érqiě jiàgé yě bù guì.This supermarket not only has a wide variety of products, but also low prices.
• 这 次 活动 不仅 无聊，而且 很 累。Zhè cì huódòng bùjǐn wúliáo, érqiě hěn lèi.This activity is not only boring, but also tiring.
