Difference between revisions of "Expressing "if… then…" with "jiashi""

"假使⋯⋯，就⋯⋯" (jiáshǐ..., jiù...) is another way to phrase "If..., then..." in Chinese, with this pattern being one of the most formal.

An important note is that this pattern is usually only used in written formal Chinese.

假使 + Statement + 就 + Result

假使明天下雨，我就不去上班了。Jiǎshǐ míngtiān xià yǔ, wǒ jiù bù qù shàngbān le.If it rains tomorrow, then I'm not going to work.
假使你同意，我们立马签合同。Jiǎshǐ nǐ tóngyì, wǒmen lìmǎ qiān hétóng.If you agree, then we should sign the contract right away.
假使我们能找到更多的赞助，我们就可以帮助更多的孩子。Jiǎshǐ wǒmen néng zhǎodào gèng duō de zànzhù, wǒmen jiù kěyǐ bāngzhù gèng duō de háizi.If we find even more sponsors, then we can help even more children.
假使你满意，我们会很开心。
假使这些办法不可靠，我们还可以想其他的办法。
假使你要去留学，现在情况也不允许你出国。
假使有一点机会，我就会辞去现在的工作。
假使这话是真的，我们也要考虑两天。
假使一定要去的话，她就去。
假使我们又见面了，你还会记得我吗？
