没有 means 'to not have' and can be used to express that someone or something lacks something else. This can be used to express a lack of something tangible e.g. I have no bread (see e.g. 2 below) or something more abstract e.g. I have no time now (see e.g. 5 below). 没有 can be shortened to 没 without altering its meaning.

Subject + 没有 + Noun
Examples
- 我 没有 工作。I don't have work
- 我 没有 面包。I don't have bread
- 我 没有 朋友。
- 我 没有 钱。
- 我现在 没有 时间。
- 这个房间 没有 人。
- 电脑里 没有 你的照片。
