To express "seems," the word 好像 (hǎoxiàng) can be used.

Structure

The structure for this is:

Subj. + 好像 + [Observation]

Note that if this structure is used without a subject, it has the meaning of "it seems that..." in English. This could then be followed by an entire statement.

Examples

Some examples:

他们好像要结婚了。Tāmen hǎoxiàng yào jiéhūn le.They seem to be getting married.
小猫好像饿了。Xiǎo māo hǎoxiàng è le.The small cat seems to be hungry.
好像要下雨了。Hǎoxiàng yào xià yǔ le.It seems like it's going to rain.
你好像很生我的气。Nǐ hǎoxiàng hěn shēng wǒ de qì.You seem to be getting very upset with me.
