One way to intensify a sentence is to make it an exclamation. To do this, you can use 多 (duō). It's really exciting!
Structure
As well as asking about degree, you can also use 多 (duō) to intensify adjectives.
Subj. + 多 + Adj. !
Examples
- 多 好 ! That's great!
- 今天 天气 多 舒服 ! The weather today is so nice !
- 你 看 这 个 地方 , 多 美 啊! Look at this place, it is so beautiful!
- 学 中文 多 有 意思 啊! Studying Chinese is so interesting!
- 你 穿 这么 少 , 多 冷 啊! You are wearing so few clothes, you must be so cold!
- 坐 地铁 多 方便! How convenient it is to take the metro!
- 你看 这 个 小狗, 多 可爱! Look at this puppy!It is so cute!
- 他们 每天 工作 十 二 个 小时 , 多 累 啊! They work twelve hours every day, they must be so tired!
- 这样做 多 麻烦! Doing it this way is so troublesome!
- 这些菜多 好吃 啊!多 吃 点 吧! These food are so delicious!Eat more!
- 你 男朋友 多 帅 啊!你 还 不 满意?Chinese characters are so difficult! I don't study them.
多 (duō) can be compared to 很 (hěn) in this case. As you can see, if you use 很 (hěn) instead of 多 (duō), the meaning is basically the same. The exact meaning of 很 (hěn) is "very"and the exact meaning of 多 (duō) is "a lot." These two words can easily be interchanged as desired without changing the meaning.
