Expressing "stuff like that" with "zhileide"

之类的 (zhī lèi de) can be translated as "and so on" or "and stuff like that." As in English, this grammar point is used to continue a list without explicitly mentioning further items within it.

  • 年轻 人 很 喜欢 用 支付宝 之类的 电子 支付 方式 。Niánqīng rén hěn xǐhuan yòng xiàng Zhīfùbǎo zhī lèi de diànzǐ zhīfù fāngshì.Young people love using electronic methods of payment like Alipay and similar.
  • 很多 中国 老人 喜欢 广场舞 、太极 之类的 运动 。Hěn duō Zhōngguó lǎorén xǐhuan guǎngchǎng wǔ, Tàijí zhī lèi de yùndòng.Many old Chinese people are fond of exercises like plaza dancing, tai chi, and stuff like that.
  • 我们 学校 很 少 办 才艺 比赛 之类的 活动 。Wǒmen xuéxiào hěnshǎo bàn cáiyì bǐsài zhī lèi de huódòng.Our school rarely holds activities like talent shows or similar.
