Again in the past with "you"

Whenever you want to express something like "you did it again!" in Chinese, you may want to use 又.

Structure

There are two words for "again" in Chinese. This depends on whether the repetition has happened, or whether it's going to happen.

If the repetition has happened, i.e. it's a repetition in the past, 又 is used.

Subject + 又 + Verb + 了

Notice that 了 is used as the action is complete.

我们又学了一遍。Wǒmen yòu xuéle yībiàn.
又做错了！Yòu zuò cuòle!
宝宝又哭了。Bǎobǎo yòu kūle.
你又迟到了。Nǐ yòu chídàole.You came late again.
他又喝醉了，他的胃怎么受得了？Tā yòu hē zuìle, tā de wèi zěnme shòu dé le?He's drinking beer again. How does his stomach handle it?
苹果十五块钱一斤？你又被骗了！Píngguǒ shíwǔ kuài qián yī jīn? Nǐ yòu bèi piànle!Fifteen kuai per jin for apples? You've been tricked again.
又过年了，我们又长了一岁。Yòu guòniánle, wǒmen yòu zhǎngle yī suì.
明天又是星期一！Míngtiān yòu shì xīngqí yī!
老板又要找我开会了。Lǎobǎn yòu yào zhǎo wǒ kāihuìle.
这个周末又可以不加班了。Zhège zhōumò yòu kěyǐ bù jiābānle.
又该我请客了？Yòu gāi wǒ qǐngkèle?
如果你告诉妈妈，妈妈又会生气了。Rúguǒ nǐ gàosù māmā, māmā yòu huì shēngqìle.
宝宝出生了，妈妈看了又看，高兴得不得了。Bǎobǎo chūshēngle, māmā kànle yòu kàn, gāoxìng dé bùdéle.
这个词我记了又记，还是记不住。Zhè gè cí wǒ jìle yòu jì, háishì jì bù zhù.
这个方案改了又改，终于通过了。Zhè gè fāng'àn gǎile yòu gǎi, zhōngyú tōngguòle.
我想了又想，还是不能这样做。Wǒ xiǎngle yòu xiǎng, háishì bùnéng zhèyàng zuò.
