In this article, we will look at the way 会(huì) is used to express a desire to do something in the future.

Structure

As well as expressing a learned skill, 会 (huì) can also be used to indicate that something will happen or that someone will do something.

Subject + 会 + Verb + Object

Examples

明天你会来吗？Will you come tomorrow?
今晚我会去饭馆吃饭。Tonight I will go to the restaurant to eat.
他会考上大学。He will test into college.
待会儿会下雨。Wait a while and it will rain.
下班以后，我会给你打电话。After leaving work, I can give you a call.
圣诞节的时候，我会回家。During Christmas, I can return home.
他不会跟你结婚。He can't marry you.
我不会告诉你那件事。I cannot tell you this matter.
今天晚上，我会和朋友一起吃饭。This evening, my friend and I will eat together.
下个月，我的姐姐会来上海。Next month, My little sister can arrive in Shanghai.
